Dr. Ahmed Jad, MD

Dr. Ahmed Jad is the founder of Revive Bariatric Health, and a highly accomplished bariatric and minimally invasive surgeon recognized for advancing surgical innovation in Atlantic Canada.
Dr Jad completed his General Surgery Residency at Dalhousie University and Minimally Invasive Bariatric Surgery Fellowship at Laval University. He has a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC), a Fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (FASMBS), a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). He is a member of renowned associations like ASMBS, IFSO, CABPS, SAGES, OMA and TOS, a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM) (first surgeon with this designation in Atlantic Canada). He pioneered the use of endo-bariatrics in Atlantic Canada, as well as the use of swallowable gastric balloons in Atlantic Canada. He actively integrates emerging surgical innovations to enhance patient outcomes.
Dr Jad serves as Assistant Professor of Surgery at Dalhousie University. In addition to his clinical and academic roles, Dr. Jad founded the “Obesity-Friendly Hospital” program at the Truro hospital, an initiative designed to enhance accessibility and improve the care experience for individuals living with obesity.
