How do I get surgery at ECSC?

By your surgeon’s referral to ECSC. If your surgeon is not listed on the website, please ask them to contact us to see if they are able to provide the surgical service to you at our surgical centre.

We provide an out-of-hospital surgical option for adults and children 6 years of age and older. As long as they are healthy and meet the safe guidelines from ECSC at the time of surgery.

No, we are currently only offering day surgery procedures. After surgery, our patients are discharged under the care of their chosen support person with post-op instructions and follow-up appointments booked.

We take every precaution by reviewing all medical history prior to surgery. Our team of nurses, your surgeon, and the anesthetist review any concern that may be flagged during the pre-op questionnaire. If in the event that you require advanced medical assistance, it will be performed by our well-trained medical staff. If necessary, you will be transferred by ambulance to one of the region’s emergency departments for immediate advance care.

Currently, if a procedure is covered by Medicare, it is unable to be performed at ECSC. We are working closely with the regional health authorities to allow us to better serve our surgeons and patients in the near future.

Your follow-up appointments will be booked through your Surgeon’s office.

Each procedure is different. Please contact your surgeon for this information.

Call your surgeon consultation clinic or go to the nearest emergency care if you think you require physician attention.

Yes, you will be subject of cancellation fee if you cancel 2 week it will be communicated during your surgeon consultation and reviewed again with you during your pre-op phone call with ECSC.

If you call right away on your first day that you are sick ECSC will not apply the cancellation fee. The cancellation fee will apply based on the case-by-case review by the Medical Director and the Director of Operations.

Yes, you will be contacted by one of our nurses to review your pre-op health history and steps to take before your surgery day.

No, the legal custody of the child needs to be present at all times in case the surgeon needs to talk to you.

We are going to have to cancel your surgery due to the high risk of aspiration of fluid in your lungs during surgery. Also, you are going to be subject to the cancellation fee.
